Royael Saez, owner of FootLights Performing Arts & Education Program, is a native of Hartford, CT and started her performing arts career under the teachings of her mother Ann Marie Williams and her educational arts program "K La Rue" “Where learning is an adventure”. Royael has 5+ years of professional performing arts training in African drum and dance, step & Drill, hip-hop, tap, modern, jazz, Caribbean folk, ballet, theater and international body art modeling. Royael is a graduate of the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, Hartford High School, Classical Magnet and The University of Hartford, all located in the Greater Hartford area. Royael is a Master Teaching Artist with 25 years of teaching experience with youth 5-21 years of age in the Hartford public and Crec school systems. Royael is in the top 10 internationally acclaimed body art models in the international Body Paint competition “Living Art America”. Royael has received the inaugural Flow Artist position as one of Hartford’s City, representative’s . Royael is a company member of FriendZWorldMusic and Island Reflections dance Theater inc. An Artist of Color Unite advisor to the Hartford Foundation For Public Giving, A 2022 graduate of the Artist of Color Accelerate Fellowship and a Cultural Ambassador/Partner with The Gambia West Africa Flex Fusion Dance Academy, the first dance school in The Gambia West Africa. Royael has been featured in The Hartford Courant and New Britain Herald newspapers, On channel 8 with Anne Nyberg’s Cultural Arts special and Connecticut’s Public Access series “ Hope, Heroes and Feats of Humanity original and extended”. Royael has performed for Maurice Hynes as well as the late Maya Angelou, who later told her to “ never stop dancing". Royael stays active and committed to the community that has raised her.
